Calen followed the girl and was shocked at whom she was introduced to those eyes it couldn't be could it ?no Will was dead ......or was he this could be her baby brother or it could just be a man the right age , who just happened to look like him couldn't it.
" 'scuse me ummm Captain , Will gotta go sort something out" the girl said before taking her leave
Calen began playing with her ring out of nervousness.
"Where did you get that ?" Will questioned
"It's mine always has been" she replied
Will studied her carefully before speaking again
"Cal? is that you"he asked
Her head snapped up and she took a good hard look at her brother yes it was her brother before she pulled him in to a hug.
"Shit i missed you Will!" she exlaimed
Suddenly Will was facing a blade and a rough voice said
"Ok you step away from our Captain" Tom demanded
"Tom you thingy put that blade away and leave my brother alone!" she ordered him
"your brother oh sorry Captain" Tom blushed and moved away to tell the rest of the crew who the Captain was with.

Gabby had tried to pass the Drunken Sailor (which she had to go by in order to get to the bakery) with as much haste as she could, and yet one of the drunken beasts that hung around outside the front of the pub still managed to come on to her. He had put his arm around her waist in an attempt to keep her from leaving, but she quickly drew a dagger that was hidden under her skirt and held it at the man's throat. Needless to say, he let her go, and she was once again on her way. Before going into the bakery, Gabby turned back and frowned as she saw that the man now had another young woman in his grips. Obiviously not from around here. Must be lost, Gabby thought, as she shook her head and entered the bakery.
~*~*~*~
Where can she be. Gavin was pacing in kitchen, imagining all the awful things that could've happened to his baby sister. She should've been back by now. He resolved to go and look for her. He grabbed his sword and went out the door.
Gavin wasn't walking down the street for long, when he heard a woman scream. Gabby? he thought. His heart raced as he took off running in the direction of the scream. When he got near where the scream had originated, he saw that it had not come from Gabby, but from a beautiful young woman who was very richly attired. She was surrounded by drunken men, one of whom had her by the wrist. Gavin didn't hesitate for a second.
"Oi!" he yelled. "Get off her, you mangy dog!"
The man turned in suprise. "An' if I don't?" he laughed. "Wot you gonna do 'bout it?"
At this point Gavin drew his sword. "I'll do whatever I have to," he said through gritted teeth.
The man that was holding the young woman pushed her over to two other men who held her roughly by her arms. She was trembling in fear.
"Alright," the man said as he drew a sword of his own. "If that's how ya be wantin' it!"
They circled each other for a moment; the man swung his sword, and Gavin blocked it with a loud clang. They fought for a few moments in this manner, but Gavin was younger and stronger (and not drunk) so he quickly got the upper hand. When the man realized this, he called to his mates for aid.
~*~*~*~
Gabby walked out of the bakery to see a fight down the street in front of the Drunken Sailor. Someone must've decided to help that woman... she thought, as she walked warily down the street. She stopped dead in her tracks when she saw who the daring man trying to rescue the woman was. Gavin?!
Just then, the man Gavin was fighting called to a few other drunkards for help... and they readily obliged. In a split second they were on Gavin, and started beating him. Gabby dropped the loaf of bread she had just bought and ran to help her brother.
"NO! Leave him alone!" she yelled at the top of her voice, but they paid her no heed. She picked up a rock that fit perfectly in the palm of her hand and threw, hitting one of the brutes square in the middle of his forhead. Everyone who had been fighting froze where they were, watching and waiting to see what would happen. The man Gabby hit with the rock raised his hand as though he were going to say something, but before he could, his eyes rolled back in his head and he fell backwards to the ground. Then everyone who was figthing looked back at Gabby, obviously very... put out with her.
Uh-oh, she thought as she saw the men narrow their eyes at her.
"Don't just stand there Gabby! Run!" her brother yelled at her. And, boy, did she run. The man that had grabbed her earlier gave chase, calling after her, "Come here, pretty girl! I'm not going to hurt you!"
I'd sooner thorw myself into a pit of snakes, she thought, as she dodged left down a narrow street. She took two more lefts, and then hid in the dark shadows next to a log pile. She felt around on the log pile, and found one that was thin enough that she could get a good grip around it. Then she waited quietly in the shadows for the pig to catch up. When he did, she jumped out and smacked him upside the head with her log and he fell to the ground with a thud. After making sure that he was unconscious, Gabby quickly made her way back to where Gavin was. She made another quick left and found that Gavin had defeated the attackers, they were all lying on the ground.
"Are you all right?" Gavin said to the young woman. He reached out his hand to her, but she backed away. And then she fainted.
"What are we going to do with her?" Gabby asked.
"Take her home, obviously. We can't just leave her here," Gavin responded. He picked up his sword and sheathed, and then picked up the girl, but he put her back down quickly and put his hand on his side.
"What's wrong?" asked Gabby as she went over to her brother.
"I have some broken ribs. I don't think I'll be able to carry her home."
"Well, what about getting a room here?" Gabby suggested. "I wonder if they have any vacancies."
"I'll go find out. You wait here with her," Gavin said, and he stepped inside the pub. As Gabby was sitting next to the girl, she noticed that the man she'd hit on the head with the rock had sat up. Gabby quickly got up and kicked the guy in the face and sat back down next to the unconscious young woman.

Calen watched Tom walk over to the rest of the crew and mutter something which caused them all to turn to her, she fixed them with a long hard stare and they soon looked away .She turned back to Will.
"i'm sorry bout tom hes one of the many idiots that makes up my crew"
Will raised one eyebrow
" you sure hes nothin more Cal?"
"Quite sure thanks Will" she replied rolling her eyes
Suddenly the sounds of a brawl reached her ears , she knew it imediently as it was a sound she heard often.Without a moments though Calen followed the sound outside at the thought that she could help, Will followed.
"Gavin , Gabby! are you alright ?" he asked all in one breath

"Oh Ana, what have you gotten us into this time?" said Emil shaking his head.
"Well, I'm off to get some sleep m'lady, all this thinking is making me quite sick in the head, if ya know what I mean, I'd be here if you ever need me." said Gibbs and made his way wearily up into one of the many rooms available at the Drunken Sailor.
"Good ol Gibbs, well cap'n, what do you have in mind? How are we gonna stock the Queen of the sea and get all the supplies?" asked Emil, he was trying to comprehend his cunning partner.
Ana smiled.
"Well, did you see the huge ship outside the docks, when we were coming in? A merchant ship, The Avenger I think.."
"Aye! Thornton Trading Company!" replied Emil, he looked interested and urged Ana to go on.
"Well, I was thinking, how bout gathering some crew here, and commandeer that Ship? He would want to part with some gold to get it back! A fine ship that is."
"Crew? Here? If we were in Tortuga, it be a different story, but Port Royal? I don't trust these people, maybe Gibbs knows some worthy mates-"
Just then suddenly a commotion broke out right outside the Tavern. Ana stood up but Emil stopped her.
"Don't bother, might just be drunken scalliwags, besides, no attention right?" he said. Ana sat back down, they couldn't really see what was happening outside though.
Suddenly a young man limped his way into the Tavern and asked the barmaid whether there was anymore rooms available, and that an unconcious young woman was outside.
Ana heard this and it quirked her interest. "I'll just go, take a little peep, and I'll be right back!"
She went out of the Tavern and to her astonishment a very wealthy looking young woman, clad in the most fashionable gown of their time, was unconsious and lying on the ground, with a another girl accompanying her, she might be her maid or something Ana thought.
"What happened here? Is she your master's daughter?"
"No miss, she was attacked by these drunkards, and, and my brother fought them off."
"Your brother? You meant that limping, swollen-eyed, skinny young man?"
"Hey you! Who you're calling skinny? Don't be talking to no pirates Gabby!" Said a voice from behind.
Ana turned to look into the eyes of the young man who limped into the Tavern just a few moments before, she stood back up. He was clearly a very determined young man, although a tad skinny, he had that fighting spirit.
"Well, I'm sorry Mister ..... Gabby's brother, I meant skinny in a good way, you don't like pirates do you? But from the looks of it, you certainly fought like one"
The young man collapsed just then, and Gabby rushed to his side, clearly he was hurting too. Suddenly Captain Turner with another man came out.
"Gavin? Gabby?" The man asked them, clearly they were well aqcuainted, they proceeded to talking amongs themselves.
"Bootstrap?" Ana thought. The stranger looked so much like him. Poor ol Bootstrap. Whatever happened to him I wonder, must remember to ask Gibbs that tomorrow.
"Uh!! Hello! Everyone! Sorry to intrude and break up the nice little get together, but clearly you need someone with ........... experience to treat the injured, may I offer my services I am Ana, Ana Pearl."
They all turned towards her, Captain Turner rolled her eyes. "Not you again!"
************************************
Still waiting in the tavern, Emil was wondering what was taking Ana so long, so he decided to go look for her, hoping she didn't get them into any more trouble than she already had, Emil found her in the middle of a few strangers outside the Drunken Sailor, Captain Turner was one of them, and there was an unconcious young woman among them.
Ana smiled sweetly and beckoned to Emil with her eyes, "That is my brother Emil; we have injured people here Emil! If it's one thing our mother taught us is, uh.... is... is to never to leave an injured person to die alone."
"I'm hardly dying, and he's your brother??" asked Gavin in disbelief.
"Well, spiritually, we are connected as the sun and the moon, different yet same, and uh.... the heavens and higher Gods have already mapped out our route.... our mothers might not be same, but different, yet the same... bla bla bla..."
"Oh do shut up, you're giving me yet another head ache." said Captain Turner.
Emil came over, "I'm sorry, she's clearly drunk, I am Emil Boudvere, let me help." Emil carried the young woman upstairs with ease, and entered one of the rooms, and the rest followed, Ana went back downstairs to find some hot water and noticed Sparrow's daughter stealing glances at her, she looked a little nervous.
"You, Aimèe right? Would you be so kind to fetch some hot water for us?" Ana asked her, and she hurriedly brought some for them. Gabby used a clean cloth to wash the unconcious young woman's face. She was beginning to come around.
"Uh... ow, my head hurts, where am I? Who are you people?!" she shrieked but Gabby came to her side trying to comfort her.
"It's okay miss, you were attacked, we're here in the Inn right now, we're not going to hurt you, I'm Gabby, that's my brother Gavin, and that's Will Turner, that's Emil Boudvere, and that's Captain Turner"
"Ello! Oi! You forgot me!" whispered Ana, but Gabby ignored her.
The young woman looked around, clearly disoriented. "I'm... Lydia... Lydia Thornton.

**flashback**
Jose y Ortega walked semi-silently down the docks and quays of Port Royal. The only sound he made was the heavy footfall of his buckled boots. He heard the clank of his own boots, and fancied what it would sound like if he had the spurs of a knight on. Jose had read his countryman Cervantes' "Don Quixote," and it had had the opposite effect on Jose than the author had intended. Knights were out of fashion and out of date. But not to Jose. Perhaps some day, he could actually find those coveted spurs upon his boots and the blade of a sword tapped on his shoulders and head.
Jose was here with a purpose, and he was not one to dally about doing nothing. He made his way down the streets of the city, and found a loud and aptly named tavern, The Drunken Sailor. There was a loud commotion eminating from it, and Jose soon saw what was the cause. There was a brawl, and a rather violent one at that. One young man stood alone defending two young and fair maidens. He had seemingly defeated them all, and yet it was not so.
For two scoundrels still stood. Lydia saw them even as Jose did. She could see one creeping up behind Gavin, and she saw the other's reflection in a nearby wall mirror. The latter scoudrel was behind her a good distance and aiming a gun. Lydia gasped, and backed away.
It was then that Jose struck. He concked the pirate behind Gavin on the head with his pistol, knocking him to the floor, and in a flowing movement, hurled his dagger at the pirate behind Lydia. The dagger flew straight and true, barely missing other passersby. It pierced the pirate in the right shoulder, and he fell to the floor in a heap. The dagger was right on target, for Jose had no stomach for killing unless it was absolutely neccessary. Having witnessed it all, it was then that Lydia fainted from the shocking and surprising events that had just transpired.
**real time**
After having reclaimed his dagger, Jose sat down at a table for a drink of some good mead. Noone had seemed to notice his part in saving the day, but that did not bother him much. He reasoned that a man and his good deeds must go unhearalded for some time before he was worthy of knighthood. Don Quixote would have born the lack of applause with true humility, knowing he could attain greater fame some time later. And if the good Don could do that, Jose would too.
Moments later, and Jose noticed a tall and fair woman come downstairs. He had seen her near the scuffle, and though he had never met her before, he seemed to know of her. He called her over to his table. He rose, bowed, and kissed her hand. "Hello sweet senorita," he said with a twinkle in his eye. "Allow me to introduce myself. I am Senor Jose y Ortega, and if I have not totally lost my wits, you are a sailor of some ability. I am looking to go on a trip that would challenge my skills, and I believe you might be able to help me out. Do sit down, and tell me your name, please."
Having almost shrunk at the Jose's gesture at kissing her hand, Ana reluctantly sat down at his table. "You can call me Ana. Ana Pearl. I am a member of a ship. But you are somewhat mistaken if you take me for a sailor." She whispered, "I am a pirate. Does that daunt you? Are you looking for good, clean work, or is a little pirating ok for a gentleman such as you seem to be?"
"Daunted," said Jose in mock exasperation. "Me? A good knight is daunted at nothing, m'lady!"
"You are a knight then," asked Ana, now increasingly inquisitive about the long dark haired fellow with the well kept mustache and goatee.
Jose's smile faded. "Well...no," he confessed. "I am not a knight. At least not yet. But I will be some day. And no, I am not daunted by pirating. I can do your deeds, though I doubt I shall be as bloodthirsty as the majority of you seem to be. As I said, it is my skills you need."
"And what might your...skills be, Jose?"
Jose's eyes glittened. "I am the most skilled cartographer and navigator you will ever meet, my dear," he said with beaming confidence. "My maps are the most accurate, as are my calculations of the stars. I can lead a ship wherever it needs to go, and not have her run aground. I was trained by the descendants of the two most famed navigators the world has seen, one Christopher Columbus and one Prince Henry of Portugal. Perhaps you've heard of them?"
Ana sank to the back of her seat, somewhat impressed. Then she straightened up again. She had a last trick to play. "But have you been to Singapore," she asked with a crooked and clever smile.
Jose pulled out a parchment of blank paper and a quill pen and ink bottle. In a matter of minutes he had drawn a map of the Asian mainland, the Pacific Ocean, and its various islands, and of course Singapore. On the back of the parchment, he began to draw a very detailed map of Singapore and the lands and islands about.
Ana's jaw dropped. She placed her hand upon Jose's writing hand, and said, "Ok, that is enough. I get the picture."
Jose looked intently into Ana's eyes and said with powerful sincerity. "My lady, you and your crew need me!"

Calen walked up behind Ana and this man shes was talking to .She had followed Ana to discuss the arangements that were to be made if they intended to set sail within the next few days and could not help over hear the conversation taking place.
"My lady, you and your crew need me!"
"i do believe sir that you are talking to the wrong woman"
He turned to face her.
"and why is that m'lady?"
"because sir she has no ship to speak of or any crew what so ever, she has an accord with me to sail upon my ship therefore it is i whom you should be speaking to if you wish to be of service "
Calen turned away from the man and looked at Ana
"i believe Ana that we have things to disscus if we wish to set sail within the next few days , which i intend to, now how do u intend to get the supplies for my ship if you have no money." Calen fixed her with a long hard stare
Ana spluttered
"I have money Captain Turner , what on earth gave you the idea i didn't?"
"Oh it could have been the fact that you said so yourself to your companions and don't deny it my first mate heard you say so"
Ana paled slightly and seemed to be struggeling to come up with an answer.

After a while, Gabby had finally managed to calm the poor frightened Lydia down. Ana and Captain Turner had gone back downstairs; Gavin, Will, and the large man named Emil were still in the little room with Gabby and Lydia, ready to question Lydia as to why she was wandering in this part of town without a proper escort. Before they began their questioning, Gavin took Gabby aside....
"Gabby," he said, "It's getting late, you should probably head home. Father is probably home by now, and wondering where you are."
"But Gavin!" she protested. "I'm going to be in trouble with him as it is, I don't see how staying a little while longer and hearing her story is going to make it any worse."
"Gabrielle," he said sternly. "Please, just do as I tell you."
Gabby sighed. "Oh, all right. Party pooper." She bid goodnight to Will and Mr. Emil, and told Lydia not to worry; for these men were trustworthy. Gavin led Gabby downstairs and out the door to the street. Then he hugged her and told her to go straight home, and that he would follow after a while.
And straight home Gabby went, and who should she find waiting for her when she got there, but her father.
"Where've ye been, girl?" he said gruffly. He had always addressed her as "girl," never once using the name her mother had so lovingly picked out for her before she died.
"I, um... I..." she said.
"Speak quickly!" he yelled. She flinched at the sound of his raised voice.
"Well, um... what happened... there was a girl, she was attacked, and Gavin and I helped her..."
"Is that so? Ye'd best not be lying to me, or I'll-"
"I'm not lying!" she shouted.
He squinted his eyes at his daughter. "Don't ever let me hear you raise your voice to me like that," he growled. "Know that my patience with you grows thin. Now make yerself useful and fix me some dinner."
She did as she was told, lighting the stove so she could heat some left over stew for him. "Hmph. Your patience only grows thin to keep up with your thinning hair," she mumbled under her breath. Then her eyes widened considerably, and she froze, terrified that he had heard her. And he did. She slowly turned her head to look at him. "I... I didn't mean it," she said meekly. Her father was fuming. He raised his hand and slapped her across the right side of her face. She wanted to cry but didn't want to give him the satisfaction of seeing her tears.
"If I ever hear such words coming from again, you'll get a sound whipping, believe you me!" he threatened, and again he barked for his supper. Just like the flea-ridden mutt you are, Gabby thought. After a few moments had passed, the stew was ready and she got two bowls down from the cupboard. She filled one and placed it on the table in front of her father, and he ate most greedily (and sloppily). Then Gabby went back to the stove to get some for herself.
"What do ye think yer doing?" he asked her. She wondered for a second what he meant.
"Oh, I haven't eaten yet," she explained.
"Well too bad. No supper for you tonight. Now go to your room," and he went back to eating.
She did as he bid her, and only after she was behind the locked door of her little bedroom did she let the tears fall. I hate that man, she thought, as she wiped away her tears with the back of her sleeve.
Now she was filled with a real determination, she was going to do it this time, she was going to leave. She went over to her chest of drawers, pulled out a knapsack, and began stuffing odd pieces of clothing and other items into it; something she had done many times before.
"Oh what's the use?" she said aloud. "I have nowhere to go." She let the packed knapsack drop on to the floor, and changed into her nightgown. Then she picked up a little mirror that had once belonged to her mother, and looked at her face. The right side of her face was swelling and a little red, and hurt like the dickens. She sighed and put the mirror down, and poured some water from a jug into a bowl, and washed her face. Lastly, she crawled into her bed, and, ignoring her rumbling stomach as well as she could, she fell into a restless, dreamless sleep.

"Lydia... Lydia Thornton."
Ana was quite taken aback with the answer. Aha! A gem, her father would part with MORE gold to have HER back. Emil gave Ana a stern look, and Ana answered him by giving him a "What?" look, but her brain was already working, Mr Thornton, how on earth did your precious daughter wind up in these parts? More importanly, the mysterious man who looked like Bootsrap Bill was Will Turner. Interesting. His son maybe? Tonight is full of surprises, Ana thought.
Ana decided to go back downstairs to ask Aimèe where exactly did the Thornton's live, as she was quite helpful, thank God her mother was no where in sight.
"They live right where the Governor used to live, near the docks, big white house. You can't miss it." said Aimèe.
Suddenly a man approached her, a Spaniard by the looks of him. Jose y Ortega, Ana didn't trust Spaniards that much, but his mapping skills were undoubtedly quite astounding, as they were talking Captain Turner appeared.
******************************************** "Well, don't deny it, my mate heard you talking.." asked Captain Turner again.
"Alright, alright, sit down will you? For a pirate you're not suppose to attract attention whenever treasure is involved."
"What treasures, Isle De Muerta? Oh please-"
"Isle De Muerta? It does not exists, I have done many research, but I have never come across it. It is only an old wives tale. A myth!" said Jose.
"See?" said Captain Turner again.
"Alright calm down you two, it does exist, I have seen it, have you all not hear the stories? It will only appear to those who already know where it lies. And that is where we are heading, to squander Barbossa's abandoned booty!"
"That does not make any sense." replied Captain Turner again.
"Trust me Captain, unimaginable wealth, enough to support you and yer crew for thousands of voyages, and besides what have you got to lose?" asked Ana again.
They both fell silent.
"But now, I admit, I am penniless to stock your ship, BUT I have a plan, if you two would help me of course!"
Ana then proceeded to tell them of her plan of kidnapping Thornton's daughter.
"Madness! I will take no part in this!" said Jose.
Ana gave him a smile . "Suit yourself, but if you want to join my crew, sorry, I mean, HER crew, ye better start proving your worth now."
Captain Turner was silent, clearly thinking about the prospect, Thornton is very wealthy, making a considerable profit off sugar, spices and cocoa trading.
"What about the boy?"
"The boy? What boy? Oh! THAT boy, the hero, well, Lydia might need a little company." replied Ana with a gleam in her eyes.
"Alright, but don't harm her and the boy." said Captain Turner.
"No, I won't, why would I do something like that? Do I look like a dangerous person to you?".
Captain Turner raised an eyebrow. "No, not dangerous, harmless actually, but your words are."
Ana and Captain Turner went back upstairs, Ana called Emil outside the room, careful to be far from the Captain or any of her crew, and she whispered her kidnapping plan.
"For Jack, we must save him, the Captain doesn't know about that though, I just told her about the Treasures."
"But Ana, we still don't know where the Island is! Not unless we have the compass!"
"Jack's compass...." Ana's voice trailed off, for once she really was at a loss for words.
Aimèe who was lurking around them all night, heard this, and her heart beat faster. Father! He's in trouble! She ran back to her room where she hid the compass before and took it to Ana, who was still with Emil outside Lydia's room.
"Miss Ana, I'm sorry, but I overheard you, is my father in trouble? Where is he? I want to help!" said the young girl, her eyes wide with anticipation.
Ana looked at her solemnly, and sighed, "Yes young miss, your father is missing, we must find him, he might be in very big trouble, but you need to keep this secret from the Captain, she doesn't know about Jack, but she is taking us for the voyage." said Ana.
"Miss Ana, I also overheard something about a compass. Will this help? I believe, it was my father's." said Aimèe suddenly, producing a queer looking compass.
"Well I be damned!" said Emil.
"Jack's compass! He left you this! Crazy ol bastard he is!" Ana smiled a wide smile.
"This is indeed very good news! You are coming with us, take that compass with you, DO NOT let it out of your sight. We will be sailing tomorrow!" said Ana indignantly and Aimèe nodded.
******************************************
That night after Will Turner left, Ana, Emil, and a few of Captain Turner's crew gagged the helpless Lydia and punched the lights out of Gavin, who fell asleep by her side. They took them to the Queen of the Sea and locked them below deck. Both unconcious. Another crew of about twenty men proceeded to Thornton's house and overpowered the guards. Mr Thornton himself came out with a pistol in one hand.
"Ye be not firing that lest ye want your girl dead!" said one of Turner's crew, Tom was his name.
"What? Where is Lydia! What have you done with her?"
"Let's just say, she is alright, sleeping like a baby, if you will. Now listen, give us 10,000 worth of gold if you want your precious poppet back!" continued Tom.
Thornton tried to fight them, but one of the pirates, Burns, accidently punched him, hard, and he fell back, unmoving.
"He's dead! You scum! Cap'n said don't harm him! Now how are we suppose to know where the old man keeps his gold?" yelled Tom to the snivelling pirate.
He checked his pulse, "Still breathin, now don't waste time, go find the gold!"
They plundered the house and stole everything that might be worth anything, plus they found where Thornton kept his gold and brought it back to the Queen of the Sea.

The next morning, Jose y Ortega sat on the docks of Port Royal watching the sun rise. His meeting with Ana and Captain Turner had gone rather awry. He had hoped to gain an introduction to the Captain through Ana, but the Captain had overheard and misconstrued what he had said. Jose figured he had inadvertantly injured the pirate lass' pride. He hoped he could ammend things.
Even as the sun rose, a giant galleon weighed anchor, and left Port Royal with strong dawn winds in her sails. It was a Spanish ship, El Conquistador. His friends and acquaintances were onboard, and it was Jose's last chance to return to the sandy hills and coasts of his beloved Spain. Jose rose, tipped his hat to the departing boat, crossed himself, and blessed his friends. "Visit the grave of Cervantes, and light a candle at Compostella for me, my amigos," he called after them.
Despite his less than satisfactory night, Jose was not one to give up. He had a goal to accomplish, and he would do that. A knight fullfills his duties and missions.
Jose walked through the town, hoping to find signs of Captain Turner, Ana, or any of the other pirates he thought might be part of the crew. His search brought him to a general store/supply store. No pirates here, but an inner gut feeling told Jose to stay.
The store was being run by a rather surly and ill-tempered looking man. He barked orders at a fair young maiden. She blanched at his raised tone, would not look at him, and attempted to stay as many feet away from the man as possible. There was a large and blackish bruise on her right cheek. Jose could not help but be filled with sympathy for the woman.
While the store owner was away, Jose approached the girl. He bowed to her, and said, "Pardon me, sita senorita, but I could not help but notice you seem rather glum today. Please, let me know if I can be of assistance. Cheer up if you can. Your face is too pretty to be stuck in a frown all day." Jose tipped his hat to the woman, and from underneath it brought a rose. He handed it to her, and when she took it, Jose quickly kissed her outstretched hand.
Gabby blushed hard and smiled. "Thank you, kind sir," she said. "I wish you could help me, but I fear that is not the case. I am merely worried about my brother, and pondering what to do. I thank you for your offer, though." She performed a little curtsie, but as soon as she had finished, her father reentered. Gabby backed away as if she were still minding the store. Discreet as always, Jose also acted as if he had never exchanged a word with the woman.
It was at this moment that Captain Calen Turner, a few of her most trusted pirate crew, and Ana and Emil entered the store. Jose noticed that Gabby regarded them with suspicion. He also noted that Ana and Emil could not look Gabby straight in the eye. "Very interesting," thought Jose to himself. With a final glance at Gabby, Jose ducked out of the store.
As soon as the pirates exited the store, Jose approached them. "Captain Turner," he said with a bow. "I am afraid we got off on the wrong foot last night. I offer my humblest apologies. I was not attempting to downplay your leadership in the slightest. I was merely trying to gain an introduction to you through one of your crew." At this, Jose winked at Ana. "I understand you are in dire need of a cartographer and a navigator, and preferrably one with his own tools and equipment. I, my lady, am your man!"
Calen frowned slightly at the man. "Why is it that you think I am in need of a navigator, a cartographer, and one with the proper tools? My ship already has all three."
"I beg to differ," replied Jose with a crooked smile. "Passing by the local hospice, I noticed a man there who was quite ill. Being the concerned man I am, I stopped to see why he groaned aloud in pain so much, and if I could help him. He said there was no way to alieve his pain save with rest. For he had come down with a rather sudden and dire ailment that neither he nor the doctor could explain. He was rather saddened that he would not be able to make all the measurements and maps for his ship, The Queen of the Sea. I've also heard rumor that some drunk pirates cast stones into the very same ship and destroyed its astrolabe. Most unfortuneate indeed. It seems your ship is rather lost and inable to navigate the open seas, Captain. So bring me aboard. I have my own astrolabes, telescopes, maps, and compasses. And I am the best."
Captain Calen looked rather flustered, and she sighed heavily. Ana and Jose exchanged some rather dubious looks. What lay behind them? "Very well," said Calen finally. "Can you be ready with all your tools by this noon?" Jose nodded his head yes. "Very well. You may join my crew. Welcome aboard!" She shook Jose's hand, and they parted ways.
Jose walked around a bit. He remembered the fair woman of wealth he had helped rescue the night before, Lydia Thorton. He hoped she was ok, and had not fallen victim to the pirates' nasty scheme. He desired to meet her again under more appealing circumstances. He also needed to find a priest, for he was in drastic need of confession!

Calen sighed she didn't like this one bit .She liked working with a crew she knew and suddenly she had 3 new crew members none of whom she knew well enough to trust them completely.
"so are we going back to the ship to get ready to set sail?" Ana asked trying to ster them in that direction
"No" Calen replied shortly
"What!? where are we going then?"
"We are going to the blacksmiths to see my brother" Calen told her
"your brother who's your brother?"
"Will Turner , now keep up"
Calen strod off towards her brothers shop.

Ana couldn't wait to set sail the following morning, she paced back and forth inside the crew's cabin, sometimes going above deck and looking out to sea, and sometimes accompanying the scalliwags which were on watch. It was clear the ship needed a lot of supplies. Everything they have, or had, was finished off, or infested with vermin, except rum of course.
Ana also went to check up on Lydia and Gavin, to make sure they were alright, Emil was there too, making sure no one were to harm them. Both of them were still unconcious.
"Watch over them Emil." Emil nodded and Ana headed back above deck.
Around midnight the crew that went to Thornton's house came back with a trunk filled with gold, silver syilings, pearls, and jewellry. Captain Turner was pleased, and so was Ana.
"We must haste early tomorrow morning Cap'n Turner, the Thorntons might be well acquainted with the British Navy fleet, they might come around looking for us by dawn, New Providence is not that far away" said Emil.
"Well, we have the booty, I say release the young woman and the boy, I have no use for them anymore, furthermore, it's a risk I would not like to take."
Ana had expected this to come from the Captain, "Now that sort of behaviour might prove ye dangerous Cap'n. Leverage. I had asked one of yer crew to post a little love note at the Thornton's house, saying we shall return his precious angel safe and sound, if he does not call upon the Navy."
The Captain wasn't expecting this. "And he should trust the words of a pirate? Why?"
"Because, I keep to the code, I have never committed mutiny, therefore my words are true and pure, plus, a dead girl does not worth as much to me, to us, I mean.."
"You are indeed full of surprises Ana." Suddenly, as fast as lightning, the Captain drew her sword and placed it at Ana's throat, Ana froze in her tracks. Emil started but Ana signalled him to calm down.
"But please, if you ever, pull another trick like that again without consulting me, you'll have an appointment with Davy Jones Locker!"
Ana gulped, smiled and nodded. The Captain lowered her sword.
*******************************************
At last the morning came, and the Captain along with a few of the other crew, with Emil and Ana included, went to a General Store, nearest to the ship, Henry Scott by the name of it, Jose, the catagrapher, was also there, they exhanged a few words, but Ana still didn't quite trust him completely.
"We have to be quick though, wouldn't want those Thornton guards coming after us or anything, just to be on the safe side." muttered the Captain under her breath, Ana and Emil nodded.
The owner was not a pretty sight and he gruffly ordered a young girl around to gather all the things they ordered, which was quite a lot.
"Now where's that good for nothing Gavin? He's suppose to help around here!" The man grumbled.
"Gavin?" Ana immediately recognized the name, she tensed up but tried to cover it with a smile, the young man was still locked up below deck with Lydia, and the girl which was now in front of them, was Gabby! Ana could see that the Captain knew of this as well, and Gabby eyed them suspiciously. Without wasting anymore time, they left the store quickly after paying for everything.
"Men! Take the lot back to the ship, stack em up nicely, and don't be swiping anything off with yer grubby fingers!" yelled Ana to the crew. Captain Turner gave her a warning look.
"Sorry, couldn't help it, so are we ready to set sail?" asked Ana hurriedly while keeping up with the Captain's long quick strides, Captain Turner explained she was off to see her brother, Will Turner first.
"Will Turner? From yesterday? He's your brother?"
"Yes, why do you sound so surprised?"
"Well, nothing he looks very, clean and nice."
"What are you implying Miss Ana Pearl? That I don't look as nice as my brother?"
"No! No! Not at ALL miss, I mean, Cap'n!"
"Now keep up!" she ordered.
"Wait just a bit, I need to tell Emil I'm coming with you!" Ana dashed off towards the docks where Emil and Gibbs were helping loading the supplies.
"I'm going to accompany the Captain for a bit, we're off to see the blacksmith Will-"
"William Turner?" asked Gibbs suddenly, with a beaming smile cracking across his face, showing his row of gold teeth.
"Yes! What? Swipe that smile off yer face and tell me Gibbs!" asked Ana. Gibbs let out a small chuckle.
"Well won't that just be nice m'lady! He's ol Bootsrap Bill's son! That means our Cap'n Turner is Boostrap Bill's daughter, well I be damned, there's more than one little Bootstrap lurking around! This Will Turner was with us when we were fightin Barbossa for the Pearl, I often wondered what happened to him, I thought he went off and married that fine lady Elizabeth! I never thought I'd see the day!" said Gibbs at length.
"Boostrap Bill, I see, well you can tell me all about it later, now I must be off, and don't forget Aimèe from the tavern, be discreet! She must come with us immediately!" said Ana and hurriedly followed the Captain.
Emil nodded, he knew what had to be done, he and Gibbs headed back to the the Drunken Sailor, they needed to find Aimèe, and fast!

The store was now almost completely empty, except for two ladies who were busily chatting. Gabby stood behind the counter, pondering the morning's events.
She had woken up early that morning, only to be greeted by a large ugly bruise on the side of her face. She had gotten dressed and stole quietly out of her room and down the hall to check in on her brother. She knocked lightly on the door, and when there was no answer, she went in to find that his bed had not been slept in, which worried her immensly. She wondered whether or not she should sneak out and go look for him, when she heard her father bark up the stairs for her to come down and open the store.
She was quite suprised by the handsome man, Spanish she deduced from his appearance and accent, who had been so kind to her, and couldn't help but wonder if she would ever meet him again. She looked at the rose he had given her, and decided that later she would press it so she could keep it forever.
Then a group of people, the very pirates she had met the night before, entered and requested a large order, which kept Gabby very busy. They must be shipping off soon, she thought. They seemed to avoid her gaze at all costs, though, which Gabby found quite odd.
As all these thought whirled about through her head, she didn't even notice that the two ladies who were in the store had come to the counter to pay for their things. Gabby's father noticed, however, and angrily he wrapped his cane on the counter in front of Gabby, scaring the living daylights out of her and coming very near to smashing her hand. She quickly took the ladies' things, and couldn't help overhearing some of their gossip....
"I've heard rumor," said the first lady, "that the merchant, what was his name... oh yes, Thornton! Well, I been hearin' rumors that he were robbed last night, robbed by pirates!" At the mention of the name Thornton, Gabby's ears pricked up. Where have I heard that name before? she wondered. Now she listened a little more closely to the ladies' conversation.
"You don't say!" the second lady said in suprise.
"I do say! And rumor has it that his daughter's been kidnapped." That's it! Gabby thought. Lydia! Now Gabby's suspicions of the pirates were even greater.
"Kidnapped? Oh, how horrible," the second lady shook her head sadly, as she handed Gabby money to pay for her things, and Gabby in turn handed the lady her parcel.
"Good day, ladies," Gabby said, giving them a weak smile.
"And you as well, my dear," said the first lady, as she smiled warmly at Gabby, and the second lady smiled as well.
Now the store was truly empty, save for Gabby and Henry. Then he spoke.
"Listen girl," he said after his gruff fashion. "I'm going to ask around town for your brother. Mind the store." And with that he walked out the front door. Gabby went over to the window to peep out; he was nowhere in sight. She went back behind the counter and stood there, thinking, debating in her mind what she should do. So then, the pirates steal from Thornton, and kidnap his daughter. Gavin never came home last night, and the last place I saw him was at the Drunken Sailor with Lydia... those blasted pirates wouldn't even look at me today... so I figure there are two possibilities: one, he tried to prevent the kidnapping, and they killed him, she shuddered at this thought, Or two, they kidnapped him as well. She sighed. There's only one way to know for sure.
She quickly ran upstairs to her room and grabbed the knapsack she had left half-packed on the floor the night before, and then she went to Gavin's room, and got some things she knew he would want. Then she went back downstairs, and grabbed a crate much like the ones used for the things the pirates bought. She put her knapsack into the bottom of the crate, and covered it with some salt pork. Gabby was going to leave the store, and her whole life behind her, when her father suddenly came back, just as she was hammering the lid onto the crate.
"What are ye doing?" he demanded.
She thought quickly. "Um, a member of the group of people that placed that large order this morning came by, asking for another crate of salt pork. He seemed in a terrible rush, so I offered to deliver it for him so he could be on his way," she lied.
Her father walked over to the crate and took off the lid to see if she was telling the truth. Satisfied with the pork he saw, he hammered the lid back on. "Very well. Deliver it and come straight back," he said.
"Yes, sir," she said. She exited the store carrying the crate with both arms and gave one last glance to the place she had called home for so long, sighed again, and somehow felt as though a tremendous weight had been lifted off her, even though she had no idea what she could be getting herself into.
~*~*~*~*~
When Gabby arrived down at the harbor, she found that the whole place was bustling with activity. People were scuttling about from here to there, men ordering other men about. She was looking at a grand ship, the Queen of the Sea, when she saw a man that she recognized, one of the men from the night before, standing near her gangway giving orders to people she guessed where the crew.
"Pardon me, sir," she said when she walked up to him.
"What? Oh, what can I help ye with, me lass?" he said. "Oi! You there! That don't go o'er there!" he yelled to some member of the crew.
"Well, sir, I work at the general store you just bought supplies from, and I'm afraid that this case of salt pork was left behind. So I thought I'd deliver it to you," she lied again.
"Thank you kindly. I'll have one of th'- No, no, no, stupid!! It don't go there neither!" he again yelled at the crew member. "As I were saying, I'll have a member of th' crew take it aboard."
He was just about to take the crate from Gabby's arms when she protested, "No sir! Um, please, allow me to take it for you. It's really no trouble for me to do so, and you and this fine crew seem to have your hands full at the moment."
"All right," he said, after a moment. "Take it up to th' ship and then down below to th' galley."
"Yes sir!" she said.
"Be quick about it, lass!" he called after her, and with that he turned away from her and resumed yelling at the crew.
I'll be quick. She thought. You won't even know I've gone....
Gabby rather timidly walked up the gangway onto the ship. She went as swiftly as she could, trying not to attract attention to herself; luckily everyone was busy preparing the ship. She quietly slipped down below deck, and into the place where they stored all their goods. She cleared a little space for herself in one of the corners, and put crates in front of her, so that if anyone came into the store room, they wouldn't see her. Then she prayed that she wouldn't be caught until they were well away from Port Royal.

Jose carted his astrolabe, star charts, compasses, maps, and other tools in a fair sized wheel barrel. The wheel bumped and clattered along the rickety docks of Port Royal. Jose was in a very chipper mood. Having confessed and been fully shrieved, he could now go to sea with a clear conscience. While his sins had been washed away, his secrets remained.
The Queen of the Sea all abustle with movement and noise, Jose wheeled his things onboard along with the other supplies that were being loaded. As cartographer and navigator, Jose had to be able to use his precious astrolabe effectively, and in order to do that, he had to have quarters fairly high up in the boat. And Captain Turner had made sure he did; the only quarters higher than Jose's were the Captain's herself. He was at the back of the ship, and his huge windows looked out and up--at the stars and the moon. He placed his astrolabe near the window, set his maps and compasses on a nearby desk, and set his clothes and personal items in a small chest at the foot of his bed. His bed itself was separated from the rest of the room by a small curtain. He would have visitors enter his room to discuss measurements and other navigational problems, so the curtain was most welcome. Jose thought about the floor of his room for some time. Satisfied with his quarters, he made off to inspect the rest of the ship.
Jose went below. The supplies looked like they were in ample amount, and he did not see any vermin about. That was a very good thing. Of course, Jose's main reason for going below was to check for the pressence or lack thereof of prisoners.
Somewhat to Jose's dismay, he did indeed find two people imprisoned below. They were lying on crude cots, and behind bars. And both were out cold and motionless. Jose was instantly filled with pity, especially for the poor maiden who lay there. For it was indeed Lydia Thornton, the lady he had had a hand in rescuing the night before.
There was noone there guarding them at the moment. "Must have stepped out for a bit," thought Jose to himself. Knowing he might get in trouble, yet risking it anyway, Jose let himself into the cell. He pocketed the key, and shut the door behind him with a clang. Jose sat beside each of them, and pressed a jug of water to their lips. They did not stir, but that was ok--at least they had been relieved of their doubtlessly parched throats. While Lydia did not seem to have been harmed overly violently, the young man had some nasty bruises on his face and arms. He had obviously been beaten. Jose wetted a rag, and placed it upon Lydia's forehead. He placed some salve on the man's bruises. That was all he could do for the moment, but the Spaniard resolved to take care of them as best he could.
Jose heard a noise just then, as if something had fallen over behind him. He jumped up, startled, and looked about. He could not tell what the sound was or where it came from exactly. Jose thought long and hard, waiting to see if there would be further noises. There were none. Keeping his thoughts to himself, Jose left the cell, returned to his quarters, and looked forward to the return of the Captain and Ana.

Calen carried on walking , following the directions her brother had given her the night before, without waiting for Ana. She heard Ana running to keep up with her.
"Wait up will you! " Ana Called
"im walking how hard can it be to keep up" Calen called back
" If you call that walking whats your idea of running ?" Ana replied sarcastically
"hummm" was Calens only reply
Finally they came to the shop .Calen felt nervous all of a sudden. She shook her head and knocked on the door , she heard a quiet "come in" so she did.
"Will " she called timidly
"In here Cal" he called back
She followed his voice, turning the corner she saw him wiping sweat off his forehead.A smile came to her lips and she went over to hug him .
