Jose came from behind a pilarous stalagmite, a rather large folder of sorts in his hands. "I've found De Soto's map," he exclaimed.
"That's interesting," said Ana. "We've also found a map." Everyone looked a bit confused now. "I wonder if they are connected somehow? One might lead to the City of Gold, and one might not lead to anywhere really."
"I'd trust De Soto's map," said Jose. "El Dorado was what he was looking for, after all. Why would he mark on a map on how to get somewhere if it was anywhere other than El Dorado?"
"Maybe we can discuss this later," chimed in Gabby. She had a sudden sense of dread creep over her. "Let's get out of these nasty caves and back to the ship!"
The small group began to walk away. Suddenly, a low shape emerged in the middle of their path. The oncoming torchlight of the companions revealed a body. It was lying on its back. Its tattered clothes were still intact. Its flesh was largely decayed.
"Eww," gasped Gabby. "A dead body!"
"That would be Barbossa," noted Jack. "Just where I left him!" Jack brushed his knuckles and fingers against his chest and then looked at them, all showing the pride of a job well done.
As disgusted as they were, Gabby and Ana knelt down for a closer look. Ana to see indeed if there were any signs of a bullet hole, and that Jack hadn't been fibbing all along. And Gabby to get a glimpse of the infamously notorious Barbossa.
Just then, the very worn captain's jacket that still clad the dead figure began to move, almost as if it were rumbling or shaking. Curious, Ana and Gabby leaned closer. Suddenly, the half-decayed stomach burst open alltogether! Out popped a small and screaming shape.
Gabby and Ana jumped back about five feet. "Demon-monkey," screamed Gabby.
"Jack," screamed Ana, instantly recognizing the small, furry monkey pet of Barbossa. The monkey perched upon Gabby's shoulder, and pulled out a tuft of hair. It jumped to Ana's back, scratched her neck, and bit her ear. The two women screamed in pain.
In an instant, Emil and Jose bounded over, and tried prying the little monkey off of Ana. It merely jumped on to them, and started attacking. Will and Calen joined in, only to come out with scratches and lost hair of their own. Gibbs sat back comfortably and took a swig of rum.
Jack strode forward and spoke with a commanding voice, "Monkey! Jack the Monkey! Behave yourself." The monkey stopped attacking, a small chunk of Will's ear falling from its mouth. Jack continued, "Now, you can stay here until you run out of good ol' Barbossa there. Or you can come with us peacefully. If you're nice, we'll take care of you and feed you."
Jack the Monkey seemed to understand. He hopped off of Will, and scrambled up onto Jack's shoulder. "Good boy," said Jack, patting the monkey on the head. "Now let's go."
He led them out of the caves. Jack the Monkey stuck his tongue out at everyone as he passed by.

"Stupid monkey!" grumbled Ana rubbing her bleeding neck.
"Jack! You seem rather fond of the monkey all of a sudden, what's gotten into you? It was he who gotten you into trouble in the first place. If I were you, I wouldn't trust that monkey one bit!" said Gibbs. Will and Gavin agreed, but Jack just kept walking with the monkey still perching on his shoulder.
Ana continued walking as steadily as she could, trying to ignore the throbbing pain; she was still puzzled by the Sioux map they had found earlier....

On the Pearl...
************************
Gwen looked up from her preparation and supressed a chuckle. The cook was eyeing her with suspicion as she poured the booling marmit with herbs she had in her (poor) luggage. Here. It was ready. The Frenchwoman smiled sweetly at the cook and thanked him. Then she hurried to return in Lydia's cabin.
Damien looked almost as convinced at the cook when he saw her enter the room with her "potion".
"Are you sure it will be efficient ? I don't want to take risks. She's badly feverish."
"Vraiment ? Well, maybe you need me to refresh your memory... Do you remember when you..."
"Yes, yes I remember !" cut Damien, slighly annoyed. "This... and some other things..."
"Really ?" asked Gwen, a coy smile on her face. She slowly poured a glass with some of her preparation and went to the bed.
Lydia was barely awake, and she was whispering words without logic. Her face was pale and sweaty and she was shaking lighly. With patience, Gwen manage to make the young lady drink her medication. Soon, after, Lydia drifted into an uneasy sleep.
"I hope you know what you're doing" said Damien, but his voice was teasing. He stood up and went behind Gwen, sliding his hand around her waist.
"I missed you so much, mon amour" he went on. "I thought I would never see you again..."
Gwen laughed and rested her head against his chest.
"I thought the same" she said "Time went by, and you have realised your dream. You're a doctor. Me, on the contrary..."
"Don't say that ! To me, you're still that pretty little girl who used to play tricks with me, so proud to live in Brittany..."
And they stayed like that, enjoying each other's presence.

Aimèe wandered around the edge of the island not really knowing where to go. After about ten minutes of getting no where she sat down on the sands.
"Aimèe!" She heard her voice and shot up. It was Jack... and a monkey. "What you doin' here girl? Last I remember, you were on the ship."
Aimèe put her hands on her hips "Yeah well, I'm not gonna be left behind again! I'll have you know, I swam from the ship, to the beach in half the time it took you to row! And I'm fine."
"You don't look it" Will laughed to himself. Aimèe pretended not to hear this but she discreetly started to pull clumps of the mysterious substance out of her hair.
"There were only eight places in the boats Aimèe!" Ana tried to calm her down. "You cou-"
"What about Gabby?!" Aimèe shrieked, "What right has she got to go?"
Everyone looked around at each other blankly, eventually Jose spoke, "Gabby wanted to come with me. And seeing as you are the younger, Aimèe, we thought it would be safest for you to stay." Everyone nodded in agreement.
"So, what you're saying is.... if I let you in my knickers, I wouldn't be left behind?"
"Aimèe thats enough!" Ana scolded, Gabby and Jose looked horrified, Gibbs, Emil, Calen and Will tried to hide their giggles whilst Jack laughed openly.
"I think it's time we headed back to the pearl." Calen said after a few minutes of growing tension. As the group began to walk towards the dinghies, Jack pulled Aimèe to the side.
"I'm sorry if ya think we be leaving ya behind lass, but we didn't mean no harm. Jus- Jus- don't do anything stupid again, savvy? An' no more talkin' about your knickers."
Aimèe laughed, "Anyway who's the monkey?"
"Ahh, this be Jack."

"An' we er, we have to climb up there? Y'see, there is the slight problem of uh, y'know, heights. Uh, heights arent too good, they be dangerous!"
Milla laughed loudly
"Look, I'll pop down below and get you some bread or something. I'm not really hungry so you can have my share of the food. For today anyway. How's that sound?" Milla said with a friendly smile.
While awaiting Kira's reply, Milla turned to look towards the island. With her keen eyesite she could easily see the nine figures standing on the shoreline. Milla wondered what they were doing over there. She had of course paid no attention to the murmers of what Jack was planning, Milla hadn't been present when all that was decided and she wasn't about to confuse herself by listening to whispers. However, what did hold her curiosity was whether her fathers body still lay on that horrid island and if the crew had even bothered to bury him.
"I doubt it" Milla said out loud, used to being on her own Milla had forgotten that she was in somebody's presence.

Gaell was set adrift in a small dingy. Endlessly drifting for days- with little fresh water or dried fish left to keep him alive. The Pirate Gaell was a hardened sea dog, standing about 5'8" , lean and trim with long brown hair he wore back in a ponytail. His eyes were peircing green, like the colour of the caribbean sea. He saw a small ship on the horizon, and hope overcame him. As he rowed eargerly towards the tall ship, he soon realised it was the Black Pearl, the ship of great renown and long told legend. None of the crew had noticed his small craft as he effortlessly made his way right up to the port side of the Pearl. Quietly he climbed a rope that overhung the side of the vessel and boarded the ship. Standing with her back towards Gaell was Kira - looking out on the lost horizon. Gaell crept unnoticed on the deck as sailors and crew went about their business; keeping the Pearl in tip-top shape. Roughly 10 feet away from Kira, Gaell noticed a tatoo on her shoulder and stopped dead in his tracks. (This tatoo, the jolly roger, he also had on his own shoulder) Here standing before him was his long lost daughter, whom he had given up many years before, with great agony. A smile then came over his face as he drew his cutlass and tipped the back of her hat off her head! Just as Kira had spun around drawing twin pistols, Milla had also noticed Gaell out of the corner of her eye and had jumped down to assist Kira. "No Milla , I can take this scalliwag alone!" Milla sighed, and gave Gaell a sarl as she backed up causiously. "Who is the Captain of this so-called ship, lass?" said Gaell to Kira. "Our Captain is called Jack Sparrow - he is fierce and brave like no other on the briney sea!" "Girl ....." said Gaell tauntingly, "are you to fight fairly with honour and respect or are you to gun down ruthlessly a lesser armed opponent?" Gaell had known the art of persuassion, and had also known was was seriously out-armed. He would nigh survive a battle between blade and gunpowder. Kira then holstered her pistols and unsheathed her cutlass. "Very well, foolish man - prepare to meet thy maker

Gabby was completely silent, her face expressionless, as they walked back to the boats. She was completely dumbfounded at Aimèe's snide remark about knickers. Not to mention, she was angry that Aimèe would even insinuate-- Gabby sighed heavily and clenched her fists.
"Something wrong, Gabby?" Gabby heard Aimèe say sweetly.
"Don't talk to me." Gabby said flatly, keeping her eyes straight ahead.
"Why ever not?" Aimèe asked, again in a sweet voice. Sickeningly sweet, thought Gabby. Gabby did not respond. Will stepped up beside Aimèe.
"Um, Aimèe," he said, "I think maybe you should just leave her be."
Aimèe sighed and rolled her eyes. "Fine." she said. They walked on in silence a few moments more.
"Take it back." Gabby said eventually, still looking straight ahead. Aimèe looked all around her, and put her hand to her chest in a grand gesture.
"Oh, I'm sorry, did you actually say something to me?" she said, widening her eyes. "What exactly is this 'it' you want me to take back?"
Gabby stopped walking and turned to face Aimèe. "You know full well what 'it' is, you little--"
"Gabby!" Jose said, cutting off her sentence and gently taking her by the arm. "Calm down. It's no big deal, just let it go."
"Yes, Gabby," Aimèe said, "listen to him. There's no reason to get your knickers in a twist." She put emphasis on the word "knickers."
"That's it!" Gabby yelled, as she lunged at Aimèe, knocking her off her feet. The two girls tumbled to the ground. Jack, Gibbs, and Calen started laughing, and Jack the Monkey screeched at the sight while Ana yelled at the girls to stop it, and Jose, Emil, and Will tried to pull them apart. Aimèe pulled Gabby's hair and kneed her in the stomach, and to retaliate Gabby kicked at Aimèe's legs, knocking her onto her back. Gabby pounced on top of Aimèe and drawing her dagger, held it to Aimèe's throat. At that, everyone stopped moving (and laughing).
"Gabby, what are you doing?" Jose asked.
Aimèe laughed. "Yes, Gabby, what are you doing? Are you going to kill me? Ha, you're not capable of taking a life." she scoffed.
Gabby loosened her grip. "Tell that to the pirate Ed." she said through gritted teeth. Then she stood, sheathed her dagger, walked over to one of the boats and climbing in it, sat down.

Kira glared at the strange man that stared boldly back at her. And yet, something within him seemed strangely familier, the angle of the jaw, the glint in his green eyes, so similer to hers, but no.... Kira shook her head vigerously, that line of thinking was practically treasonous. Kira stared darkly at the man who had so boldly challenged her. He stood there, his clothes were rather torn and salt tinged from the sea. Kira dimly wondered where he had come from, she didn't seem to remember him from any of the other pirates of the Pearl. Kira reached into her belt and pulled out a twin set of daggers that she had filched from Jose. With a savage glint in her eye, she ran toward him holding the daggers out expertly. Gaell reacted in suprise, from its sheathe at his side he pulled out a rather rusty looking but strong sword. He scarcely had time to settle down into a fighter's stance before Kira was upon him. Her twin blades whirled like dervishes as they glanced upon his blade which he abruptly put up to block. She twisted around agily and tried another move upon the man, he too brought up his sword to block it, but he was a bit to slow and barely brought up his sword in time. Both of them were breathing heavily but they continued to go at it, each fighting to spot an opening upon the other's defence. Their legs moved swiftly and they fairly danced upon the deck, each moving swiftly, Kira using her tricks that she learned upon the street and Gaell from his knowledge as a pirate. At last, Kira spotted an opeing and took it, she fainted with one of her daggers, when Gaell followed her blades, she abruptly swung around with them in an arc and brought them up underneath his defense. Both of the blades pointed directly at his neck.
"One move sah" Kira spoke dangerously soft
Gaell gulped visibly, with a rather strange glint in his eye he nodded his head and spoke, "Aye lass, I concede the round to ye then"
Kira relaxed slightly and put the daggers down, she stared up at the man that stared down at her. Something, something about him seemed so familer...

Gwen had requested that she and the surgeon be left alone with Lydia in her room. That was how a very worried Gavin found himself sitting on a chair outside Lydia's room, wringing his hands, and wishing there was something he could do. Finally he got tired of waiting, he had to know if Lydia was better. He stood up and knocked lightly on the door. Gwen opened it a crack.
"What is it, Gavin?" she asked.
"How is she doing? Has there been any change?" he asked, his voice full of concern.
"I'm afraid there has been no change." she told him, shaking her head sadly.
"Gwen, please tell me the second there's any change."
"I will, Gavin, I promise you. But for right now, you should eat something, and take some rest. You need to keep up your strength! Wouldn't want another person to become ill." she said.
"All right, I will." Gavin smiled weakly at Gwen, and she started to close the door. He stopped her. "Gwen! Can I see her first?" Gwen sighed softly.
"I'm sorry Gavin, but I must insist that you not. I'll let you know if there's any change." she said. Gavin frowned.
"All right. Thank you Gwen." he said, dejectedly. He walked off to the galley where the cook gave him a sandwich, and then went back to his room.

"Oooh! Touchy!" Aimèe exclaimed as she stood up and wiped the sand off her wet clothes.
"I said it would be wise," Jack said quietly "if ye didn't mention ye knickers again Aimèe."
"My knickers! I didn't mention my knickers. And anyway - perhaps you should have a go at the two faced cheatin wench that had me with a dagger when I have nothin!" yelled Aimèe pruposely so Gabby could hear her.
"Come on," Ana broke the slence that followed. "Lets get back to the ship."
The groups started walking again, Aimèe walked in between Ana and Jack. "I'd have 'ad her y'know. If she hadn't of cheated. I'd have 'ad her,"
"Of course Aimèe, of course." Ana agreed, whilst her and Jack exchanged knowing glances and giggles behind the young girls back.

Ana shook her head, half amused, but also half worried about the fight between Aimee and Gabby just a few moments before. It was a wise thing they sat in different dinghies on the way back, Will, Captain Calen, Gibbs, Jose and Gabby in one boat, while Ana, Jack, Emil and Aimee in the next.
She looked over to Gabby, who was still grim as their boat passed them, while Aimee was busy playing with Jack the Monkey.
Ana sighed, she pulled out the parchment again and analysed it. Jack glanced behind her, "Ye still hadn't tell me what that map is about" he said. Ana snapped it shut, "I will, once I figure out what it is; and ye know it might be nothing" She flashed a quick smile and tucked the map firmly inside her caravat. Jack frowned, "Don't ye trust me?"
"Of course I do! Now ye have to trust me too, savvy?" Ana replied. Jack the Monkey started to run around the little boat, making Aimee and Emil laugh, slightly tilting the little boat sideways.
"Ye all be careful now!" hollered Jack, who was rowing together with Ana, heading back to the Pearl.

Gwenaëlle could tell that Damien was tired. He tried to hide a yawn unsuccessfully.
"You should rest a little" Gwen said. "I'll take care of her"
She looked at Lydia, still lost in an uneasy sleep. Her cheeks didn't seem as pale as before but the fever was still here, burning in her weak body.
"Are you sure ?" asked the French doctor.
"Yes I am. Now, go to bed !"
Damien smiled, kissed Gwen on the cheek and exited the room.
Gwen was worried. Lydia's state didn't seem to improve. She had to try something... And it was better Damien wasn't here, even if he knew... Plus, It was a little dangerous for her and she was positive that her childhood friend would not allow it...
She unfastested a little her shirt, revealing a silver necklace and a silver triskel pendent. She took off her shoes and knelt beside the bed, taking Lydia's hands in her own. They were so cold...
Sighing deeply, Gwen concentrated and began to feel the wave of energies that linked their two bodies, just as her grandmother had teached her. She immersed herself deeper in the feeling, eager to find the source of Lydia's illness...
And the vision came to her : the shadow of a ship, growing closer and closer, a threat for the Pearl and its inhabitants...
"Oh mon Dieu !" she thought as a great pain hit her. And all went black.

As Kira and Gaell began to fight, Milla rolled her eyes. Pirates, all the' seem to do is te fight She thought as she turned and headed towards the Galley.
"Time to quench me thirst and get back up th' mast" Milla said to herself as she walked briskley towards the staircase which would lead her below deck. Bounding down the staris with all the energy of a young child, Milla stopped at the bottom, letting her eyes become accustomed to the dim light. Once she could see almost normally (everything was still a bit hazey as the sun was extremely bright outside) Milla began to make her way down the wooden coridoor, her footsteps reverberrating off the walls around the enclosed space. It didn't take her long to get to the galley, it wasn't that far after all and especially at the pace Milla was travelling. She was eager to get back up to the crows nest avoiding all unnessasary social interaction. Milla always felt she said something stupid when she was talking to people, like they were all laughing at her little quirks. That or they held something against her for being Barbossa's daughter. The older members of the crew especially, Milla thought, regarded her with a feeling of distrust due to her parentage. Milla rolled her eyes at this thought. It was as if being someones offspring instantly made you exactly like them. Shaking the thoughts from her mind as she pushed open the galley door, Milla padded across the wooden floor towards the water barrels. Taking up a small leather drinking pouch that was tied to and hung from her belt, Milla lifted the lid of a barrel and filled the small container with the musty smelling water. Milla took a quick swig, grimacing at the foul taste, that she put down to being in the barrels too long, before screwing the lid back onto the water vessel and putting the lid down onto the barrel.

Calen sat rowing with her brother , keeping one eye on Gabby who seemed to be a nasty shade of red .Calen's gaze turned toward Amiee, for some reason unfathomable to her she felt the need to protect Amiee though the girl clearly didn't need her to.Calen shook her head as if to clear the feelings away and turned to Gabby.
" are you alright Gabby?"

Milla made her way back up to the deck, to find Kira & Gaell's fight had just ended. As she walked over towards them, she started to feel a little weak. "Was the water I just drank alright?" she thought to herself. She proped herself against the main mast as she listened in on Kira & Gaell's conversation. "A word if you will, lass" said Gaell to Kira as he eased backwards signaling Kira to follow. He then lead her over to the starboard side of the Pearl and had placed both hands on her shoulders. The wind had picked up now and Kira's long dark hair blew across her face. Much of the crew had stopped to watch what would transpire next. "Kira, I must tell ye something that you may think folly ...... but truth be told........ I am your father!" Kira stood there in a state of shock. Her hands began to tremble, as a tear rolled down her cheek. She knew this to be true as the familiarity of his face and the fact that he knew her name, and had only just boarded the Pearl moments before.
