(flashback thingy, personally I’m just confused on what the hell is going on. So um yeh…)
Kira hugged her arms tight to her chest. A chill breeze suddenly swept through her, lifting her short brown curls, making the waves cavort and dance upwards. The sun was setting, its sensuous colors painting everything in hues of red and orange.
Kira came to herself with a start, she had never none companionship or comfort. And yet she had spent quite some time with a small group of friends. Protest as much as she may, she knew in her heart that she would miss them all as they went their separate ways. She wondered if it would ever be possible for everyone to come together again. What she wouldn’t give to go on yet another grand adventure again. Yes she had learned quite a lot on her journey, she had experienced happiness, pain, sorrow, defeat, and love.
With a heavy sigh she lifted her large bag that clinked together with the unmistakable rhythm of gold. Though she didn’t know Spanish she figured now was as good as a time as any to learn. She took one step on the gang-plank and looked back. Out of their large company, the only two left were herself and Jack Captain Jack Sparrow! she quickly corrected herself. He raised one hand in farewell, and Kira raised her own sadly.
She reached the edge of the plank and hesitated. She had never before been on a ship before the whirlwind of events that had swept her up, but now that she had spent so long on it, she realized she would miss it. And especially miss the sea. For perhaps the second time in her life, Kira’s sharp green eyes filled with tears. The next instant she dropped her gold on the pavement and flew up the gangplank into Jack’s arms. She bowled him over onto the rough-hewn deck. Tears, laughter, and hugs mingled easily. Later Kira watched with sadness but contentment as the ship pushed off from shore. Jack had his arm around her slender shoulders, his other hand was steering the Pearl.
Both knew with unspoken words that their future was not connected. Jack who had lost a daughter now gained one, while Kira who had always yearned for a father figure had found one. They could never replace the people who had passed away, each was still keenly aware of their sorrow. However already the pain of their passing was receding and replaced with comfortable warm memories. The father looked at his new daughter smiled at her. The daughter smiled up at him.
“Where to Jack?”
Jack smiled crookedly, his eyes out on the horizon. “Anywhere we like lass, the ocean be our home. Jus’ faller that horizon!”
“Aye aye Cap’!”
Kira hoisted the sales while Jack played with his compass. Behind them was a large pile of gold that had been their share. Both father and daughter looked forward eagerly, toward the future, toward the horizon, toward new adventures. Together, they sailed off into the sunset.
