So I was wondering if there was a way we could get rid of characters occasionally...
It just seems a little over the top that there should be all these near death situations and NO one dies.
What do people think?

I wouldn't mind booting off Susanna. She's getting a bit boring and I can never post anything exciting to do with her.

What rpg are you intending this discussion for, Lady Disdain? If the pirate one, why the concern, seeing as how your character is no longer in it? And if the LOTR one, the main adventure (the one everyone at the least acquiessed to) hasn't really started yet. Are you wanting to have characters killed off so early there?
And who is to say what deaths may lie ahead for any characters in either rpg? Just because it hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't happen.

Both obviously, which was why I didn't limit it to either of their threads. Also for any other rpgs that might develop once these wind down. I just think there should be a system in place whereby characters might be killed by general consent. I understand that some people might not be in favor of this, but I think it would aid in narrative flow if such a deciscion was not up to the disgression of individauls. The recent events in the pirates rpg make such a provision unnecessary for that one - although I have every right to be concerned with the outcome of the rpg despite my character's departure - but I would like that any messures for future rpgs be taken before they become necessary.

Oh, and thanks Nixy, Susanna's death fits in nicely with some plans I have going.

I think we need to have more people die too.
Or at least more injuries and less miraculous recoveries.
My Pirates character is now dead too but I still would like to read an interesting...and slightly more realistic story.
