I posted this in a few places, and I'm seriously risking repeating myself for the third time, and this thread is a spoiler, don't read if you don't want it to be spoiled, anyhoo
I just saw Revolutions about an hour ago, so I guess this is where I should ramble about it.
Firstly, I think they should've just skipped reloaded altogether (runs and hide), I mean I didn't see the point in it other than to show 'the sentinels are coming!' and look at all these cool pointless characters!
Secondly, in the end everything is about Agent Smith, I mean, that's it? Smith is the GREAT ENEMY? I thought the machines were! It was as if the Wachowski brothers surrendered and said 'oh man I don't know how we're gonna save Zion, oh! I know!I know! Let's just say Smith has gotten soo powerful that even the SOURCE can't handle him, and let Neo do some sort of a deal with the SOURCE. Problem solved.
And am I the only one who feel the Trinity dying scene a tad too long? In the end I was secretly saying 'Come on die already and get this over with." And I was annoyed when Neo was blinded, the question at hand is, WHY?
Man, in the end I really do feel robbed, (like someone said earlier) and imagine there's only one Matrix movie. The only plus thing I can say, is the visual effects were stunning (as usual) the obligatory fight scenes were all very cool (as usual), I loved the fight against the sentinels, although I thought the APU'S were too bulky, and there's not even a windscreen on it, hello? Sentinels? Sharp pointy tentacles? Ok, I think I've done enough rambling for today, and oh I really thought the sentinels were cute when they ceased fire, and Monica Belluci shouldn't even be paid for being in this movie, since she just sat there to look pretty and show cleavage.
More ramblings...
I guess what I'm trying to say is that revolutions was just an ending which didn't quite fit with the whole 'this film is sooo deep, Neo is the one! He will fill the prophecy mumbo jumbo' deal. I guess I was hoping Neo would do some major damage in the machine city, like the way he crushed that sentinel just by thinking it! Or maybe *gasp* infiltering the SOURCE altogether, (and a thought crossed my mind, maybe the Trainman can help or something in this machine city, but NO! He's just another pointless character, maybe has some potential to re-occur in future movies if any) and thus scrificing himself in the process, and peace will be restored, forever! No more MATRIX!
But somehow I am under the impression that at the last minute the Wachowski brothers made a split second decision to 'save' the Matrix, and made Agent Smith as the villain instead, probably that was why they had Sati in the first place, so that Neo had a soft spot for the Matrix, and save it beacause the Matirx had LOVE inside it, (how it all happened I don't know) and Neo would understand, right? Cus he is sooo in love! Probably that was why Smith said an (I felt it was such a cheesy line) Why fight, do you think LOVE can win, or something like that, which I thought was completely out of place at the time
