I read the whole trilogy in two days. The Hobbit I read in twoish hours. The Sil (suprisingly enough) I have yet to get into.

Wahoo! ;D Go Athena, you speed reader, you! Well, when a book is as good as LOTR, then I just keep reading it. You can't stop the force!
I think reading the LOTR books gives you a better experience at the movie theater. Even though Peter Jackson made the films so that people who haven't read it before can understand it, it can still get confusing, as with some of my other friends. If you've read the books, you can kind of compare and see how it's displayed visually.

I don't know why I read so fast, it is just a talent I have , I must say, it is a nice talent to have for school and all The books are infintely better, but the movie makes a nice visual element to add to the books. It is interesting to see the charaters come onto the screen and how they interact with one another. The main thing is, that thought the movies are wonderful, they are PJ vision of LOTR. I assure you that my vision is completly different, as is other people's.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Peter Jackson did a great job on the movies, made them totally believable, but it was still his version. I'm sure if it was made by someone else, we would have completely different movies. Speed-reading is definitely useful. But sometimes it gets on my own nerves, because some books I just don't want them to end!

Yes that is certainly true, that's why I read nice thick juicy books, the kind that you can 'sink your teeth into'. Sorry, I am getting ready for Halloween, that reminds me, I need to change my avatar to something more...scary in preperation If I did the movies, I would give Leggy a bigger part for one thing

That I would do, that I would do! I'd give Legolas a line, maybe along the lines of "C4O, you sexy thang" LOL! ;D Of course, that would be going off-topic of trying to save Middle-Earth from annihilation, but whatever, you know? ;D See, I want to change my av to something Halloween-y but I can never get the width and length right on the profile thingy. It either gets all stretched out of proportion or it gets squished.

LOL! ;D Oh, yes, Count Dracula then, if you will. Well, Halloween's officially over, are you going to change your avatar back to the Arwen one or something different? I've been looking for the perfect Legolas/Orlando av. I have a pretty good one at Rebellatrix but to put it on two forums would be too boring ... MUST ... HAVE ... VARIATION!

If everyone will please deal with me getting off track for one more teeny little post, C40, check out my new avie , methinks that I need to change me avie at Rebellatrix soon... (alright, back on track) Even though Leggy is a member of the fellowship, he doesn't really have that big of a part to play in both the movie and book, in fact, I didn't even know until later that he was even a prince. Did anyone feel the same way?

I can't see your av. All I see is a red X with the white box. But I can see everyone else's.

I'm trying to figure out how to transfer a Legolas picture onto a blank t-shirt. I have bought a blank t-shirt already to decorate it for the last LOTR movie but now I really want his pic on it too. Trying to read some craft books, but they don't really give any info on it.

Hohumm, now I am waiting for Summer to PM me back with info about my new avie till then, I am picturless.
Well, my friend printed out a pic of Merry and Pippin ( she is almost as obessed as me) on some sort of special iron on paper. It let's you take the paper and iron it onto a t-shirt. I don't know what it's called but maybe you should look for it. However, I don't know how it works with colored pics, the pic she used of them was black and white. And it did look quite awsome.
