Okay, up till my fifth viewing only then did I NOTICE :
Jack Sparrow SLIT his hand BEFORE tossing the last piece of gold to WILL . Did anyone else notice that? If so is the case, WHY?

He had to add his own blood as well - on the coin. Because the taking a coin made him subject to the curse. Otherwise his blood would still be needed to break the curse.

Then why didn't all the other cursed pirates slit their hands as well? They removed the gold too!

they had said that they had already paid their blood debt. All except bootstap bill, whom they had sunk to the bottom of the sea - making it hard to get his blood

Then how come Boostrap wasn't cursed? He removed a gold piece too right?

he was cursed, but they tied him to the chest or something and he couldn't free himself. Presumably when the curse was lifted he died at the bottom of the sea

So is it only those who physically remove a piece of gold from the chest that get cursed?

Yes, I'd say so. Posession of the coin didn't do anything (Elizabeth pretty much demonstrated that)

he was cursed, but they tied him to the chest or something and he couldn't free himself. Presumably when the curse was lifted he died at the bottom of the sea I disagree. Presumably Bootstrap had been down there a long time - the pirates threw him overboard when it was discovered that 1. he sympathised with Jack Sparrow, and 2. he'd sent a piece of the gold to his son, Will. So, assuming that they threw him over when they realized this, and Will had the gold piece at age 12 (the latest age for him to have recieved it), Will now being in his late teens/early twenties, it would have been at least 8 years since Bootstrap went overboard. This is plenty of time for an undead pirate to drag himself to shore, even with a weight on his leg (which was, as noted by one of the pirates, only a cannoball anyway).

But then what would've happened to him? If he had a gold piece, wasn't he as guilty of thievery as the rest of the pirates? Gasp! Maybe he's still alive and will come back in the sequel! Or maybe they drowned him before the curse set in.

yeah, thats whats missing, what actually happened to Bootstrap? If he dragged himself to shore, then he'd probably still be alive.
