Aimee, there is NOTHING wrong with Marilyn Manson groupies. But this is the 17th century for God's sake! Since when did they have eye pencils then?! It was totally fake and made Johnny look hideous. *shudders* Since when did some one have to use an eye pencil to get black around their eyes? Make up has been around for hundreds of years, just because it's not as we know it doesn't mean it didn't exist. There were plently of things around that they used back then. (And if they did it in the Elizabethan times, I'm pretty sure they could have done it in the 17th century.) All make up is fake, it's not used so the person looks totally natural other wise what's the point of putting it on.
And seeing as you have been blinded by the ugliness that is Orlando Bloom's hideous profile, I will forgive for thinking that one teeny weeny little change around the eyes can make someone look hideous.
In case you hadn't noticed, I'm in one hell of a mood today. And it's sooo hard to write this without swearing. Damn censors.

I was just simply stating my opinion that I thought Johnny looked bad in POTC. Is it wrong now for someone to have an opinion?? Maybe I should just shut up from now on and do everyone a favor.

No, don't feel that way C4O, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, as do you. And so does the people who thinks Johnny (Sparrow) is hotter, sexier, or looks awesome with the eyeliner. It's true, they don't have eye pencils then, but Egyptians (these people invented make-up) used Kohl ( a refined type of coal) mixed with oil, to produce eye liner/eye shadow. Anyway , here's a bit of info on Pirates Fashion "Since pirates were aboard ship most of the time, they had little opportunity to wash themselves. Their clothes were stiff with sweat and salt, and their hair was dreadlocked and full of lice and rodents. However, they were a fairly dashing bunch, wearing stylish cravats and the most fashionable shoes of the period. These clothes were often the booty from raids, and soon became tattered and dirty. The pirate’s baldric went over all this, and this wide leather belt hung diagonally across the body and held several pistols and a cutlass." (Courtesy of Swashbuckler's Cove) Pirates really were a fashionable and extravagant bunch those days, so it's no surprise if a pirate were to wear all those things, even if they do smell bad LOL! Oh and Aimèe, mild swearing is allowed hehehe!

people have been using eyeliner since ancient egypt (or before). And actually, I thought it looked good on him. (Hey I'm a theater person, most of the guys I know have their own makeup kits for shows)
But as to choosing??? (searches vainly for Mr. Darcy my ultimate choice in everything -- darn it, not an option)
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Will - well he's so gosh darned pretty and you gotta love a noble soul Sparrow - probably more intelligent, certainly more witty, a lot of fun if a bit of a trouble maker

The "mystery vote" would have been mine, though I voted Orlando and it shows up as Orlando winning on my screen Anyway, yes, Johnny Depp was very hot as Jack Sparrow. But he comes second, of course, to Orlando.

Well, it's a tie on my computer, 3 and 3. In general, Orlando's looks appeal to me more than Johnny's. Those lips, those eyes, those cheekbones, yikes!
